USINPAC hosts industry experts from India

 

Delegation explored opportunities in Alternate forms of Energy

 

Washington, DCAn Indian delegation of industry experts were hosted by USINPAC last week. The delegation is in the country to explore strategic cooperation and implementation of policies and standards related to alternative energy sources, at all levels of governments and in industry and business. Despite the Trump Administration, rolling back Clean Energy related policies and mulling on withdrawing altogether from the Paris Climate agreement, demand and interest in alternate forms of energy generation has only soared with newer and more cost effective technologies now available in the market.

 

The invitees to the dinner reception included Indian industry experts in alternate forms of energy including Dr. Sagarkumar Agravat, Head of Solar Research & Development Projects at Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI), Dr. Ranjeet Singh Mehta, Director, Progress-Harmony-Development (PHD) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Sandeep Pandey, Co-founder & CEO, Mera Gao Power and Mr. Manikandan Shanmuga Sundaram, Managing Director, Milltex Ecofibres Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. Distinguished members of USINPAC were also in attendance.

 

Discussion was focused on emerging technologies for energy generation and strategies for demand reduction supported through scientific research, public-private initiatives, and economic incentives, particularly the use of micro grids, solar wind biomass combinations, waste to energy plants, geothermal facilities, and green technologies for building and industry. The visitors also learnt about USINPAC’s experience in enabling coordination between local governments, academia, business, and civil society to implement innovative, low cost and lower carbon energy solutions.

 

Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Sanjay Puri, Chairman of USINPAC remarked, “We have seen rapid progress in cooperation between the US and India. USINPAC has hosted many exchanges between India and the US. We can learn and benefit from each other and USINPAC will continue to foster advocacy for this partnership going forward.”
