September 7, 2011, Washington DC: The U.S. India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) condemns the bomb blast that took place today on the premises of the Delhi High Court. The bomb attack which has so far claimed 11 lives with 62 people injured has been confirmed by the Home Ministry as a terrorist attack.

Today’s blast that took place less than two months after the Mumbai attacks of July 13, 2011, has exposed a huge lapse in the Indian security measures. The site of the bomb blast is very crucial given its proximity to the Indian Parliament and the PMO (Prime Minister’s Office). This is the second attack on the premises of Delhi court where a failed car bomb explosion took place on May 5, 2011.

The USINPAC Chairman, Mr. Sanjay Puri said, “There are no words strong enough to condemn these attacks. We express our support and deepest concern for the victims of the attacks and hope that the perpetrators are brought to justice. This act of resilience by the Indian citizens should not be misconstrued as indifference by the terrorist outfits.”
