Testimonials - USINPAC

Perhaps the most potent sign of Indian-American political clout is the emergence of powerful political action groups in Washington. USINPAC (United States India Political Action Committee), only founded in the Fall of 2002, already counts more than 27,000 members. IALIPAC (Indian American Leadership Initiative Political Action Committee) is another influential group. There is the IARC (Indian American Republican Committee) and NAIRA (National Asian Indian Republican Association).

I recently received an email from a prominent Indian-American businessman drumming up support for South Asians for Kerry for President. Long wooed by Democrats and Republicans alike for their individual deep pockets, Indian Americans have, only in the last couple of years, transformed themselves from a loose assortment of successful individuals into organized, focused political forces to be reckoned with. There is no doubt that groups such as USINPAC will play an increasingly powerful role in US domestic and international policy, no matter which party is in the White House or who controls the Senate and the House.

USINPAC has been actively and effectively representing the concerns of the Indian-American community here on Capitol Hill. In particular USINPAC's persuasive and vocal advocacy has been instrumental in helping to strengthen the U.S. bilateral relation between U.S. and India, and it cements our recent groundbreaking civil nuclear agreement.

USINPAC played a critical role in building congressional support for this agreement, and for that they should be commended…. USINPAC was instrumental in educating Congress about the benefits of the agreement, and proving to them that the agreement is critical in advancing US-India relations….The Indian American community should be proud of their representation by USINPAC on Capitol Hill, and for the work they did in making the approval of the agreement a reality.

Rep. Frank Pallone

Thanks, USINPAC team!! It's indeed, true friends like you who energize and bring out more passion in us. Indeed proud to be standing tall on behalf of our beloved community and make us all feel great to be Indian-Americans!! I wholeheartedly applaud your efforts, for what you have been able to do for the community all these past 7-8 years through your individual grass root efforts and getting us all together under one umbrella. Kudos to you all.

Thank you for including me as an invitee to your wonderful reception of USINPAC! I enjoyed meeting your members and was very impressed by the many members of Congress who also attended. Please let me know about future USINPAC events, and if I may be helpful.
