USINPAC congratulates Satyendra Singh Huja on being elected Mayor of Charlottesville

January 20, Washington D.C.: The U.S. India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) congratulates Mr. Satyendra Singh Huja on being elected Mayor of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mr. Sanjay Puri, Chairman, USINPAC expressed his joy saying, “This is a great moment for the entire community in Charlottesville. Mr. Huja has held a versatile portfolio working across historic preservation, transportation planning, art and culture activities, and neighborhood revitalization and he will certainly put his best foot forward towards the better and progress of the community.”

Mr. Huja came to the U.S. in 1960. He was Director of Strategic Planning of Charlottesville from 1998 to 2004. Earlier, he was Director of Planning and Community Development of the city for 25 years. He is also part of the faculty at the University of Virginia where he teaches Urban Planning. He studied Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. He was unanimously elected as the Mayor of Charlottesville.
