In the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s June visit to Washington DC, USINPAC—US India Political Action Committee- will organise a grand event to recall and recognize the tireless efforts of Indian Americans and friends of India who have contributed towards taking US-India bilateral relations to a new and dynamic phase enhancing collaboration in the field of economy, energy, environment, defence and security.
Indian Prime Minister Modi’s US visit is scheduled on June 7 and 8. The visit will include a flurry of high profile exchanges; meeting outgoing President Barack Obama at the White House, addressing a joint session of the Congress, meetings with leaders of the Democrat and Republican parties, public reception and lunch with House Speaker Paul Ryan and other law makers.
The two day visit will be marked with heightened Indo-US bonhomie. It is a testament to the tremendous ground work done by numerous Indian American groups, including the Congressional India Caucus that has been pivotal in consolidating bipartisan support in bringing US-India relations to the forefront. Sanjay Puri, Chairman of the US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) commented: “We will be commemorating the achievements of a decade of advocacy. To honor those involved in this advocacy, USINPAC will host a reception on Capitol Hill.”
The US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) is the voice of over 3.2 million Indian- Americans and works on issues that concern the community. It supports candidates for local, state and federal office and encourages political participation by the Indian- American community, says a press release issued by it.
