USINPAC Engages With Kasich for America Campaign for 2016 Elections

As the US Presidential election race moves westward with the primaries, The US-India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) continued its interactive Presidential Dialogue series with Democratic and Republican Presidential campaigns to engage and discuss issues important to the Indian American community. USINPAC held a Google hangout, on Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at 12:30 pm EST with the Presidential Campaign of Governor John Kasich, represented by Ohio State Rep. Mr. Niraj Antani.


The Google hangout was chaired by Mr. Manish Antani and Mr. Sanjay Puri and drew Indian Americans from across the country. Issues that were discussed pertained to US-India Relations, Immigration, Terrorism and domestic issues like Education and the economy among others.


Some key excerpts from Kasich for America campaign are below:


Gov. Kasich has strongest record on economy and job growth. As Ohio’s Governor, ­he created 400,000 new jobs, balanced the State budget without raising taxes and cut $5 billion in taxes to make a business and entrepreneur friendly environment. Has strongest experience in foreign policy, having served on the armed services committee. President Kasich will engage with India and other civilized nations to fight terrorism. Has deep understanding of the India-Pakistan issue. He has appointed Indian Americans on Ohio State Medical Board, tackled opiate/heroin addiction epidemic by reducing ‘doctor shopping’ by 70%.. Gov. Kasich supports robust legal immigration, securing of borders. Improved quality of higher education, capped in-state tuition.


Mr. Antani, who is currently serving his first term in the Ohio State House, is up for re-election this fall. Mr. Antani shared "As an Indian-American elected official in Ohio, I would love for fellow Indian-Americans around the country to support Gov. Kasich for President. As well, he understands Indian-American issues, such as advocating for entrepreneur and physician friendly policies. I would urge you to support Governor Kasich for president!"


Sanjay Puri, Chairman of USINPAC, remarked, “I thank Mr. Niraj Antani for engaging with us, on issues that impact the Indian American community. We had a very productive discussion and learnt Gov. Kasich’s position on the economy, education, health industry and on terrorism among other topics. Thank you.”
