USINPAC Hosts Technology Experts From India

Conference Showcases American Technological Experience


Washington, DC: The US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) hosted a dinner reception for leading technical experts from India. These experts are driving social and economic change. 


Attendees from India include senior government and technology experts like, Mr. Mohammad Sajid Idrisi, Conservation Biologist, Natural Heritage Division, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Additional Private Secretary, Office of the Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Government of India and Mr. Yatin Thakur, Founder and Director, Startup India Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd.


At the reception, experts from the US and India exchanged professional experience and challenges in implementing policies in the field of technology. The specific objectives for the conference are to examine how e-governance stimulates increased transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement through the use of social media, open data, and other digital technologies at the federal, state, and local government levels in the United States, to review best practices in governments’ use of information technology to execute a more efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of services, examine the American experience in building out its digital infrastructure with a focus on broadband expansion, explore digital inclusion initiatives aimed at bridging the digital divide and to examine the practice and promotion of social innovation and social entrepreneurship in the United States, including the use of prizes and challenges.


Mr. Kris Nanda, a leading high tech entrepreneur who was present at the reception  welcomed the experts saying, “Leadership conferences such as these are vital in implementing PM Narendra Modi’s vision of creating Digital India and Startup India”.
