The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 6 years 8 months ago #93

Whilst the U.S. immigration authorities are busy accepting H-1B visa applications for the fiscal 2012, proponents and opponents are still engaged in an ongoing debate about the pros and cons of the program.
Meanwhile key lawmakers, have recommended reforming the Green Card process in order to keep U.S. competitive. This will enable foreign graduates in U.S. to get one quickly even as it reduces the number of categories qualified for H1B visa.
The Staple Act introduced by Arizona lawmaker Jeff Flake, would offer permanent residency to any U.S. university student who graduates with a PhD in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. This way the U.S. will be able to retain good foreign talent even as they kick out cheap foreign labour.
