Two senators in the U.S. have proposed a bill to pass a start up visa in the senate. This visa will enable the foreign entrepreneurs to set up their business in America if they can raise $20,000 from an American investor. The present rule prevents the H1-B visa holders to start a business of their own on American soil. This new move is aimed to create more job opportunities and also to encourage new entrepreneurial ideas. Is this gamble worth taking? Or will a large growth of foreign entrepreneurs become a lost opportunity for Americans?

What is really the U.S. government upto no one knows. On one hand it are making visa process simple for start up entrepreneurs, while on other hand it is putting visa caps on professionals working in U.S. in MNCs. Recently a court in U.S. charged Infosys for misusing its H1B visa programs for employing the Indians in US. It is really not a fair charge and even the company is confident of coming clean through it. All the visa processes are overlooked by the American consulate members. So it is a very serious charge against a company that is generating so much of revenues and employment for US

The federal government should be careful before sanctioning these visas to the foreigners. This visa policy has its disadvantage as well. If more and more foreigners will become entrepreneurs in U.S. with the Americans working for them, there will come a time when all the Americans will be working under foreigners in their own country and the country itself might be run directly or indirectly by foreigners.

Recently, a New York Mayor has urged the federal govt to remove the cap on H1B visa and Green card. He is of the opinion that in order to ensure the smooth markets of the American markets, it is necessary that the American companies be allowed to hire as many skilled people as they want on H1B visa. It is indeed true as ever since the vi9sa restrictions have come up the American market is showing negative trend. If America wants to remain a leader in world market then it must remove the restrictions on foreign professionals working in American companies

The fact remains that, even though the vise fee for H1B and L1 visas has been hiked but still Indians remain the highest no of visa recipients. Almost half the H1B visas issued world wide are given to Indians and a very large no of L1 visas is also issued to Indian companies. These figures only indicate that the professional Indians visiting U.S. has only increased and not otherwise
