Tony Patel, as an Architect, has built a successful practice serving as Managing Partner of Newport Design Group, a firm specializing in hospitality and commercial projects nationwide. Tony's civic involvement has included volunteer services ranging from spearheading tours for senior citizens, outreach services with police departments, team building events with disadvantaged youth and working with local officials in finding better use of underutilized governmental buildings earning him two awards for community service from the City of Tucson City Manager’s Office.
Education, healthcare and fiscal responsibility were at the forefront of the issues at the heart of Tony’s campaign for State Representative. Tony volunteered his time as a Junior Achievement Instructor by visiting local schools to teach economics to 7th graders and spent the last several years providing the resources of his firm to assist in the design and construction of the Shree Swami Narayan Mandir and Cultural Complex in Lilburn, Georgia. Tony has been involved with Junior Achievement students, worked with the elderly at managed care facilities, and assisted in various community based projects.
Tony’s parents arrived in the US in the 1960’s from a small village in India. Tony learned firsthand the importance of service and strong work ethics while stocking shelves in the family grocery store in San Bruno, California; painting rental homes in Tucson, Arizona; and managing their hotel in Carrollton, Georgia.
