Jonathan Bedi (D), Illinois, State Senate, 5th District, 2008 Candidate

Indian-Americans are an emerging force in US Politics largely because of the groundbreaking work of USINPAC. I am honored to be supported by such a visionary organization, and look forward to working with USINPAC to support Indian-American candidates across the country.

Bio

Jonathan Singh Bedi is an Illinois politician. Bedi was previously a board member of Urban Synergy, an organization that brings together community organizations, schools and businesses to create unique learning opportunities for disadvantaged minority students in the District. Bedi is also a member of the National Organization for Women (NOW). He currently serves as a child mentor within the Partnership to Educate and Advance Kids (PEAK).

Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Marketing from Loyola University Chicago and a Juris Doctor from American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., where he was a Marshall-Brennan Fellow and graduated with Exceptional Service Honors. After law school, he moved back to Chicago to begin his professional career in the corporate counsel's office of the International Truck and Engine Corporation.

Jonathan is the son of a first-generation immigrant father from India and an Irish-American mother.
