US -India relations have been blossoming over the last few years resulting in significant increase in trade between the two countries. US exports to India in 2009 were $16441 million, as compared to only $3757 million in 2000. Imports from India in 2009 had a total value of $21166 million as compared to $10686.6 million in 2000. The two countries also entered into a historical civilian nuclear agreement that would allow US companies to build nuclear reactors in India and also supply nuclear fuel for civilian purposes.

It has participated in Congressional hearings and conducted extensive briefings with the Senate and House Judiciary Committees.
