Son of Late Shri V. Sankar Aiyar and Late Shrimati S. Bhagyalakshmi, Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar was born on 10/04/1941 in Lahore (now in Pakistan) and married Shrimati Suneet Mani Aiyar on 14 January 1973. He has three daughters. Hailing from the Indian National Congress in the Rajya Sabha, he is also a diplomat, journalist, writer, political and social worker.
